¨ What do I want for myself this year?

Screws, screws, screws -
and maybe some other fasteners too.

We all have leftover screws, stored in a bin or a drawer.
Yet, it seems most of my projects send me to the store.

I would like it if I could put this issue to rest.
So I appeal to you all to you all - to send me your excess.

You see, I have been building a cabinet to hold all that stuff.
But, ensuring its stocked could sure prove to be rough.

It has a number of shelves and many a bin.
So to fill it all up, I appeal to my kin.

So this year for Christmas, please send me some screws.
Though I would happy with bolts, washers, or even nails too.

Please don't send me a set you bought just for this reason.
That is not what I am looking for this holiday season.

While quite nice, that would give me no pleasure.
What I am hoping to do is turn trash into treasure.

If they come in old packaging - that would be most ideal.
That way I know if they're zinc or they're steel.

But please don't worry if they are all in a pile,
if I need to I can always sort them by style.

My humble request is not meant to be cude;
but for Christmas this year I'd like to get screwed.

I finally finished my hardware cabinet at lunch. I might be able to double as a contractor, as it was well over budget on time and money!

It has 11 removable shelves, that can be configured to hold 12 regular sized storage containers - or a combination of regular and very large containers (like the bottom 2 in the picture). Each container (which can be carried like a briefcase without spilling contents) has a number of removable bins. So, if you are using one type of screw, you can just bring that bin. Or if you are using various wood screws, you can bring the wood screw container.

The idea to build something like this is not original to me, but I designed and built this from my own plans. I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
